Dear Congresscritter,Thank you for your letter of appreciation.
It has been a privilege working for you.
As you may have heard, we were nominated to serve on the House Select Committee on Intelligence.
I have long been a supporter of your work and hope that you will consider it a privilege to serve the United States of America in the years ahead.
As I have written many times, I would like to make a special effort to share with you my personal thoughts on your work.
I believe that the American people are better served by knowing that you and your colleagues are passionate about our nation and its ideals, and have been steadfast in our support for your efforts to advance our national interests.
As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I have been honored to serve in your committee for the past decade and have learned a great deal from the people who work there.
I am particularly grateful to the members of the Intelligence Committee who have served on the Armed Services Committee and have made the Committee their home.
They have demonstrated a genuine commitment to the principles that have guided us in our fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban, as well as our efforts to ensure that America is the strongest nation on earth.
I look forward to continuing to work with you to advance the principles of the United Nations and to protect the United State from the threat of terrorism.
Sincerely,Richard Burr, a Republican from North Carolina.
